Dennis DeLorme

Mr. DeLorme joined IBM in 1970 working on the System/3. In 1975 he became part of the S/38 team to design and implement the Data Base. At various times he was team leader of VMC Data Base, CPF Data Base and CPF commitment control. In 1984, he joined the System/38 Design Control Group with responsibility for Data Base and PC support.

When the decision was made to build the AS/400, he returned to the Data Base development area in 1986. There he worked on converting and enhancing the S/38 Data Base to become the basis for the AS/400 data base. From 1989-1991 he worked in the AS/400 design control and architecture areas on converting the AS/400 to RISC, moving the development language to C++, and POSIX support.

Since 1991 he has been a member of the Integrated File System team. He is currently the IFS directory team leader.
