PHP: A Real Life Case Study

Do you want to display live data on a web page?  PHP is a great way to build dynamic web applications.  The session will start with a brief discussion of what it takes to install and configure the necessary software on i5/OS.

Find out about prerequisites, issues you may encounter and how to get help if you need it.  The rest of the session will be a live line-by-line demonstration of a PHP program.  You will learn how to connect to DB2, run a query and display the results on a web page.

Come see how easy it is to start building web applications using PHP.

Charles can be reached at cguarino@centralparkdata.com.

Paul can be reached at http://www.xtny.net or by email at paul@xtny.net.

The "regular" meeting (after-dinner topics)
PHP for System i Programmers

PHP, the most popular scripting language on the web, has come to System i.  Millions of web programmers use PHP to easily create interactive, dynamic web applications - and now, so can you!

This session provides an introduction to programming with the PHP language and how to use it to web-enable i5/OS resources.  Plenty of code examples and references for further study are included.
