Liam Barry Allan
Advisory Software Engineer at IBM
Liam Barry Allan is a passionate Software Developer and Advocate with extensive experience in modernizing and advancing IBM i systems. A Microsoft MVP, GitHub Star, and former IBM Champion (2017–2022), Liam specializes in developing large-scale applications using Node.js, RPGLE, and COBOL, as well as implementing modern DevOps practices like CI/CD with tools such as Git, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions. Liam has contributed to open-source projects, including ILEditor, and has worked with industry leaders like Seiden Group and Profound Logic Software. As a frequent speaker at Power and IBM i-focused events, he shares his expertise in integrating IBM i systems with modern technologies. Liam's dedication to innovation is evident in his leadership role at Halcyon Tech, where he spearheaded the creation of the popular VS Code extension "Code for IBM i", and at IBM, where he continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible with IBM i.
